         The Academy has many people that assist in its mission of offering the best in Franciscan Scholarship, and we'd like to thank them for their ongoing assistance, but there are a few that need to be recognized...
        Dr. Jeffrey M. Burns is the current director of the Academy of American Franciscan History, having been appointed in 2002.  He graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a Ph.D in U.S. History.  Currently he is the Archivist at the Chancery Archives for the Archdiocese of San Francisco. He is widely published in Catholic, immigration, and local history.

         Dr. John F. Schwaller is a Fellow of the Academy of American Franciscan Histroy and the previous Director for 10 years.  Currently he is the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Dean at the University of Minnesota.  He graduated from Indiana University with a Ph. D in History.  Dr. Schwaller has taught in the areas of history, languages and Spanish studies.  He has written books, articles and even has his own discussion group on the World Wide Web.  (for more...click here)


                     Mr. Jeffery N. Durham is the current assistant director of the                         Academy of American Franciscan History, having been                                appointed in 2006.  He graduated from the East Carolina                              University with a B.A. in Philosophy.  Currently he is                                        completing his Master of Theological Studies and Master in                          Ministry. He has a strong interest in historical theology and                            its impact on future evangelization efforts.
